Filterless Air Purifier
The most attractive thing about a filterless air purifier is that in the long term it is less expensive as the filters do not have to be replaced. Filters can be quite pricey even though the actual air purifier might have appeared quite inexpensive at the time of purchase. The filter is present in order to trap small dust particles, animal hair and the like, so how does a filterless air purifier work? Well there are several options
Electrostatic Air Purifiers
These machines separate out the mess from the clean air. The collected particles and toxins do need to be cleaned out from the receptacle which can then be washed and replaced in the machine.
Ionic Air Purifiers
These purifiers work by ionizing the irritants and bonding them into clumps which then fall thus removing them from the general atmosphere. As can be seen the pollutants are not actually removed but just rendered unable to float around any more. There is not usually any removal of chemical or odour irritants.
Photocatalytic Air Purifier
Ultra violet light causes metal semiconductors to produce oxidants. These then destroy small particles, odours and chemicals.
